Indonesia's state logistics agency, Bulog, has signed deals with local banks for receiving IDR15 trillion to fund its rice program designed to increase domestic rice production.

According to Bulog President Director Mustafa Abubakar, Bulog will use the funds to buy more than one million hectares of land for rice production and to develop training programs for farmers, to boost productivity in the sector and allow the agency to procure the 3.8 million MT of rice it needs this year.
