The much awaited Philippine rice tender involving 675,000 MT of rice was finally declared a failure, as there was only one supplier that submitted an offer and the bidder failed to comply with a requirement set by the National Food Authority.

Thai government agencies didn't put in bids for this tender, which was restricted to state run companies.
