Indicative rice export prices in Thailand rose in the week to Monday on expected fresh demand from the Philippines.

According to traders, the price offers given at a Philippine tender last week have become a benchmark for global prices.

Thai 100% grade B was indicated Monday at $1,000 PMT, FOB, 5% broken at $980 PMT, FOB, and parboiled also at $1,000 PMT, FOB. These prices are higher by up to $100 PMT from price indications a week ago.

International demand for Thai rice has soared after other top exporters Vietnam and India imposed limits on exports to ensure domestic supplies.
