Chicago Board of Trade rice futures touched fresh record highs Friday on bullish momentum, with suspected commercial buying interest seen in the new crop.

May rice closed up 30 cents at a new high of $20.50 per cwt, exceeding the previous high of $20.35. July rice finished at a new high of $20.78, topping the previous high of $20.69.
