The Philippines have bought a total of 335,500 MT of rice mostly from Vietnamese suppliers amid surging prices and tight supplies in the global market. The bulk of the latest rice import involved 25% broken for shipment between March to May this year.

The Philippines bought 185,000 MT of the grain from Vietnamese exporters, 130,500 MT from Thailand, 10,000 MT from Pakistan and another 10,000 MT of multi-origin rice.
