Vietnam Rice Prices Unchanged On Increased Local Supply

Vietnamese rice export prices were mostly unchanged in the
week to Tuesday as demand was met by a rise in local supply, despite stronger
global demand. Prices are expected to be little changed in the coming weeks because farmers
will continue to sell more paddy rice to the market.
So far, farmers have completed harvesting 60% of their rice-growing areas in
the region, and harvesting of the entire region is expected to be finished by
end-April.
In Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta region, traders quoted indicative
prices for high-quality 5% broken rice at $305 PMT and 25% broken grade at
$285 PMT, unchanged from last week.
