Vietnam has agreed in principle to provide a rice export quota to the Philippines that would guarantee supply for Manila's rice import requirements for the current year. Philippines National Food Authority, a state-owned grains trading firm, usually buys its rice import requirements mostly from Vietnam through auctions. The NFA has so far signed contracts to buy 877,000 MT of rice out of an import quota of 1.6 million MT for the year. |
