In order to ward off chances of any local shortage, the Indian government might completely ban all non-basmati rice exports irrespective of the price at which it is sold in overseas markets.

In October last year, India had imposed a blanket ban on all non-basmati rice exports to shore up local supplies. However, later it allowed the export of rice varieties that fetch more than $500 PMT, FOB in the international markets.
