Chinese Rice Prices Likely To Remain At Higher Levels

According to a recent report, rice prices in China are expected to trade at high levels in the current year after remaining strong for most part of last year.

The figures are in tune with the current international trend as decreasing global rice stockpiles, coupled with the rise of agricultural commodities drove international prices higher last year up 28.2 % year-on-year.

The report concludes that the growing severity of global warming and drought in rice producing countries will work to keep rice prices at higher levels this year.
