After a meeting of Pakistan's food ministry officials and the members of Rice Exporters Association, Pakistani rice exporters have agreed to a government proposal to pay 10% quality premium to farmers for next year's crop.

Pakistan currently exports more than 3 million MT of Irri-6 and Basmati rice to the Middle East, European Union and Asian countries (almost 92 countries) worth about $1 billion.
