Vietnamese agricultural ministry is trying to assist farmers for taking immediate measures after more than 40,000 ha of rice fields in several areas of Mekong Delta were reportedly infested by the pest brown planthopper.

 Farmers are receiving aid from agriculture departments to stop the spread of the infestation.
