Cambodia: Mass Exports Might Lead To Domestic Shortage

Cambodian government has expressed great concern over domestic rice shortages due to mass exports after Vietnamese and Thai traders bought too much rice products from the country recently.

As Cambodia has had a fairly good crop this sesson, the government finds it difficult to implement a ban stopping local farmers from selling rice products to merchants from neighboring countries.

The Cambodian government has however requested the Thai and Vietnamese authorities to provide information on rice products imported from Cambodia.
