In order to fulfill its domestic requirements after being hit by cyclone Sidr recently, Bangladesh's Food and Disaster Management Ministry has issued a tender to import 100,000 MT of non-basmati parboiled rice. According to official estimates, Bangladesh requires 1 million MT of rice either from imports or grants by the end of June.
