According to the recent official reports, South Korean has completed shipping of its annual 400,000 MT of rice aid to the neighboring impoverished North Korea.

Apart from sending the aid, officials in Seoul had also monitored the distribution of the rice - 150,000 MT of hich was domestically-produced and 250,000 MT imported at twenty different sites in North Korea to make sure it reaches those in need.

South Korea had suspended its regular annual rice aid following the North Korea's missile launches and nuclear test last year, but resumed them in June as its neighbor pledged to shut down its nuclear program.
