Bangladesh Cyclone Damage Estimated At $291 Million

According to a latest estimate released by Bangladesh's agriculture ministry, the  deadly cyclone Sidr that hit southern coastal Bangladesh last month has destroyed $291 million of Bangladesh's winter rice crop.

Cyclone Sidr smashed into the southern coastal districts of the delta nation on Nov. 15, killing at least 3,200 people and leaving millions homeless or short of basic staples such as rice.

International donors have already pledged 500,000 MT of food aid in the wake of the cyclone already.
