South Korea's rice production for the current year is expected to fall to its lowest level in twenty seven years owing to unfavourable weather conditions.

According to a recent survey done by the The National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service (NAQS), the harvest is likley to be 5.8 % smaller than the 4.68 million MT harvested last year.

Frequent rains and cloudy weather during the fall months have had a detrimental affect on overall yield in the country.
