Chicago Board of Trade rice futures finished higher Monday as early speculative fund related buying interest boosted prices.

January rice settled 9 1/2 cents higher to $12.54 1/2 per hundredweight, with the nearby contract settling at its highest level since January 1994 on monthly continuation charts.
