Taiwan: Council of Agriculture To Release Rice Stocks

Taiwan's Council of Agriculture (COA) has decided to release government-owned stocks of rice in the domestic market in a bid to curb rising prices due to dropping supplies.

According to official reports, the agency has decided to release a total of 8,855 MT of state-owned rice stocks which will include 2,200 MT of imported unpolished rice, 2,975 MT of imported polished rice, 2,180 MT of imported glutinous rice and 1,500 MT of locally-grown rice on Nov. 5 and Nov. 8.
