Chicago Board of Trade rice futures settled higher Wednesday underpinned by light fund buying early in the session.

November rice settled 12 cents higher at $11.60 per hundredweight, and January also rose 12 cents, to $11.93, both new contract highs with new highs also in the March and May 2008 contracts.
