According to latest reports, Rice output in India's key eastern states like West Bengal and Orissa is expected to fall below set targets mainly due to deficient rains and floods this season.

Moreover rice cultivation in northern states such as Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have also been affected by unfavorable weather conditions.
