Demand For Thailand's Sticky Rice Rising High

After the famous Thai Jasmine rice, now its the Thai sticky rice which turning out to be the preferred choice specially for the Chinese importers after insufficient cultivation in China mainly due to natural disasters. Chinese importers are buying sticky rice to produce famous Japanese beverage ‘Sake’ and desserts in order to cater to an increasing number of Japanese tourists in China. Thailand has however decided to export only 200,000 MT of sticky rice while the rest has is reserved for domestic consumption. |
