Chicago Board of Trade rice futures settled modestly lower in quiet trading with Wednesday's USDA's production and supply/demand reports having little impact.

September rice fell 5 cents lower to $11 per hundredweight, November also settled down 5 cents to 11.28, and January declined 3 cents to $11.60.
