Chicago Board of Trade rice futures settled lower in light activity Tuesday as the market waited for USDA's Agriculture crop production report for some direction.

September rice settled 3 cents lower at $11.05 per hundredweight, November slipped 1 cent to 11.33 and January also declined 1 cent to $11.63.
