WFP Extends Support To Bangladeshi Flood Victims

In the wake of loss of standing crops due to massive floods in Bangladesh, the World Food Program (WFP) has decided to start rationing 2,000 MT of rice among flood victims in Bangladesh.

Australia, Canada and Germany who have already committed food aid for Bangladesh will also be to be channeled through WFP. According to official statistics, standing crops on about 1,200, 000 acres (around 485,633 hectares) of land were completely or partially damaged by the current monsoon floods.
