Chicago Board of Trade rice futures settled slightly lower Friday and in very quiet trade as the lack of any significant changes in U.S. production and stocks report.

September rice slipped 2 cents to $10.40 per hundredweight, November fell 1 cent to 10.74 and January also settled 1 cent lower to $11.04.
