Chicago Board of Trade rice futures settled with thin losses in narrow-ranged trade, unable to derive any support from the good gains set in the other grain markets.

Sept. rice slipped 1 cent to $10.52 per hundredweight, Nov fell 1 1/2 cents to 10.85 and Jan. declined 2 cents to $11.16.
