Pakistan's government has decided not to fix rice indicative prices for the current fiscal on the grounds that farmers got good price of rice in the local market in the last fiscal year.

Paksiatn's rice production target for this year has been fixed at 5.72 million MT from 2.59 million hectares. The share of the provinces is expected to be 3.2 million MT in Punjab; Sindh: 1.7 million MT; NWFP: 0.1 million MT and Balochistan: 0.5 million MT.
