Marking Japan's returned to export rice to China after a gap of over three years, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese Ambassador to Japan Wang Yi made their presence felt in a ceremony to commemorate the resumption of trade.

The first shipment of 24 tons already left for China on Sunday and will be sold at supermarkets and other retailers in Beijing and Shanghai from late July.
