Chicago Board of Trade rice futures settled mixed Tuesday, recovering from sharp losses set early in the day on technical and speculative selling.

July rice settled 3 cents lower to $10.57 per hundredweight, and November slipped 2 cents to $11.22.

Meanwhile the The U.S. Department of Agriculture has reported that 74% of the U.S. rice crop was rated in good-to-excellent condition, down two percentage points from the previous week.
