Chicago Board of Trade rice futures finished with small gains Tuesday in thin dealings as fundamental news remains scarce.

May rice gained 4 cents to $9.80 and November rose 1 cent to $10.69. Rice trading was extremely slow compared to recent sessions.

Trading was dominated by thin, two-sided speculative activity.
