Bangladesh: Slight Decline In Rice Prices

Prices of rice at the wholesale level declined slightly and the prices of edible oil increased further while the prices of other essential commodities remained unchanged in the city markets over the past week.
Traders said prices of rice declined slightly in the markets mainly due to increase in supply in the peak harvesting season of the same and for allowing the truck drivers to carry more than five tonnes at a time.
Recently, the government has again allowed carrying of more than five tonnes of goods in a truck at a time. As a result, the cost of carrying declined to some extent
