According to the Association of Rice Farmers of Uruguay if the present conditions continue, rice harvest 2006 - 2007 will be similar to the previous campaign, being able to reach 1.200.000 MT of cereal.

For the present campaign have been seeded 20,000 hectares less. Still 140,000 MT from the previous crop are pending to sale. On the other hand it is expected that Brazil will increase prices for rice imports.
