Italy's Rice Exports Drop In 2006

Italian Cereals Association Anacer said on Monday that rice exports by Italy, Europe's biggest rice producer, fell to 708,326 MT from 849,182 in 2006.

Wheat flour exports, mostly earmarked for Libya and Cuba, fell to 277,689 MT from 303,369 in 2005, while durum semolina exports dropped to 63,260 MT from 65,774. Exports of pasta rose to 1,552,907 MT in 2006 from 1,500,075 in 2005.
