Chicago Board of Trade rough rice futures ended higher across the board Friday, underpinned by light speculative and commercial buying.

March rice ended 1 cent higher at $10.38 per hundredweight, May rice finished 6 1/2 cents higher at $10.71 1/2, and the November futures settled 8 cents higher at $11.47.

Overall activity was relatively light with late commercial buying firmly planting futures in positive territory, analysts said. Volume was estimated at 350 contracts.
