Vietnam Rice Export Prices Up On Strong Global Demand

Vietnamese rice export prices were higher in the week to Tuesday, as state companies continued buying for new export contracts.

The trader noted that companies under the Vietnam Food Association won a tender to sell 415,000 MT of 25% broken rice to the Philippines last week, raising the total export volume to that country to 889,000 MT in the first half of this year.

In Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta region, traders quoted indicative prices for high-quality 5% broken rice at $305 PMT, up from $300 PMT last week, and 25% broken grade at $285 PMT, up from $280 PMT previously.
