CBOT Rice Review: Up; New Crop Sets New Highs On Funds Buys

Chicago Board of Trade rough rice futures ended higher across the board Monday, with the new crop November future leading the upward move on speculative and fund related buying. March rice ended 8 cents higher at $10.38 per hundredweight, May rice finished 8 cents higher at $10.69, and the November future settled 14 cents higher at $11.49. The new crop November rice contract carved out a new contract high, with fund buying buoying prices to the upside. The November futures settled on its highs, with the nearby May future dragged up on carrying charge spreads. |
