Pakistan will export more than 3.6 million MT of rice during the current year.

Indian rice production declined by 20 to 25 per cent during current year, while on the other side demand of the rice in the global market increased.

Pakistan exported 500,000 MT of Basmati rice from July 1, 2006 to January 31, 2007 with the increase of 23 per cent as compared to corresponding period of pervious year.
