Panama: Proposals to stabilize rice prices

In Panama the Ministry of Farming Development (MIDA) is studying proposes to stabilize rice prices to the consumer. Among the options are the following: 1) Reduction of rice import tax, 2) Support to producers 3) Freezing the prices. It seems that the most viable possibility at this moment would be freezing the prices, although a final decision is expected.
