Indonesia's domestic rice production may fall 2.33% this year to 53.13 million MT as harvest acreage decreases, the Central Statistics Agency said Thursday.

The country's rice output grew 0.46% on-year in 2006 to 54.4 million MT. Domestic rice production in 2005 was about 54.05 million MT.

The increase in rice production last year was due to a 0.96% increase on average in per-hectare productivity in the nation's rice fields.
