Thai Govt Agrees To Sell 200,000 MT Rice To Indonesia

The Thai government has agreed to sell 200,000 MT of white rice to the Indonesian government, Thai Commerce Minister Krirkkrai Jirapaet said Monday.

The 15% white rice, to be sold at $309 PMT, will be delivered to Indonesia March to May. Payment will be made in cash. The Thai government targets to sell 1.0 million MT of rice this year under the government-to-government program.

Targeted buyers include Indonesia, the Philippines, Iran and Cuba. The rice exporters have agreed to supply rice for a total 150,000 MT to Tunisia, most of which is parboiled rice.
