Panama: Baisa will not leave rice and maize quotas

The Farming and Industrial Board of Panama, (Baisa) which during seven years has negotiated quotas of maize and rice says that would not leave the system of auction in the negotiations of the Free Trade Agreement with U.S.A.

United States has demanded that the contingents of maize and rice to be managed through the system "first arrived, first served", idea that does not accept the Panamanian industry.

According to the manager of BAISA, the operations through stock-market it is the most suitable method for Panamanian importers.
