According to a survey by the National Institute of Statistic, Geography and Computing (INEGI) Mexico, the economy of the country increased a 3.7 % during May in comparison with the same period in 2004.

The farming sector grew 3.9% in relation to last year. This growth is attributed to a greater surface harvested during the agricultural campaign of autumn-winter thus increasing the production of several farming products, among which are several basic cereals as rice, maize, sorghum and wheat.
