Indonesia has issued a permit to state logistics agency Bulog to import 500,000 MT of rice, and has set an April 30 deadline for the delivery of the same.
The permit is part of Indonesia's previously announced intention to import up to 1 million MT of rice this year, in addition to an announced 500,000 MT, in an effort to stabilize prices.
Jakarta had earlier said that the rice will be imported either through government-to-government deals or private tenders.
