The government hopes to continue its subsidy of hybrid rice seeds until 2010, upon the request of local government units, Agriculture Secretary Arthur C. Yap said.
Another “three years for certified seeds, hybrid seeds and location specific additives will also be pursued until 2010,” he added.
Yap previously wanted to remove the government price support for seed technology this year.
