Indonesia: Imports Needed To Stabilize Local Rice Prices

The Indonesian government is considering increasing the volume of current rice imports to help stabilize the staple's domestic prices, a government official said Thursday.

The government has also instructed the state-owned government logistics firm, Bulog, to slash immediately its per-kilogram open market rice price and to continue it till the prices stabalize.
