Despite unfavourable weather during the initial stage of cultivation, farmers in the district are expecting a bumper production of transplanted aman paddy this season.

However, farmers believe that they won't be able to achieve the production target of T-aman due to the drought like situation in the district during the early stage of cultivation.

The cultivators could not irrigate their land properly as frequent power failures and exorbitant oil prices, exacerbated the drought. But the farmers have already started harvesting paddy and are getting 15 to 17 maunds of paddy from per bighas of land.
