In Spain, the Valencian Association of Agriculturists (AVA-Asaja) asked for worthy prices and aids to cover the high production costs, because yield of rice producers descended a 14% in relation to previous campaign.

According to AVA even rice prices are being increased slightly, the cost increase and shortage of aids is causing losses to rice dealers. For five years production costs have been increasing to a 20%.

Is esteemed that production in Valencian Community reaches 105,000 MT of rice of excellent quality, descending a 5% in relation to last year.
