In spite of a bumper production of boro this year, the prices of rice continue to be high in both wholesale and retail markets in Bangladesh.

Traders also blamed hoarding of rice by some big rice traders for the high prices of rice in the market.

Sources in the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), said the production of boro paddy may cross the target as the country witnessed a bumper production during this season also.
