Despite the crises of urea, diesel and electricity there has been a bumper production of IRRI-boro paddy this year across Bangladesh fulfilling the production target set by the Department of Agriculture Extension.
This year IRRI-boro cultivation target was set at 4.22 million hectares of land against the production target of 15.05 Mil MT of paddy.
But the farmers have cultivated 4.35 Mil hectares of land for paddy prompting the DAE officials to expect to fulfil their target of 15.05 million MT of paddy which is about 0.5 lMil MT higher than last year’s production volume.
A total of 14.5 Mil MT of paddy was produced last year on 4.29 Mil hectares of land across the country.
