According to the National Institute of Statistic and Informatics (INEI), during the month of January, rice production in Piura´s region (Peru) increased in a 62.0% in relation to last year.
The increase in rice production is due to increase of seeded surface during the campaign corresponding to the period between August and September in valleys of Middle and Low Piura, San Lorenzo and Chira.
